Hurley Suspended For 3

Essendon today announced they are adding a further three weeks to his suspension after earlier ruling him out of the NAB Cup. Charges are slowly progressing against him for an allegedly violent exchange with a taxi driver in September last year. It is staggering to think the Bombers have only just finished punishing him, but this last penalty should rule him out of first round plans for Dream Teamers. Tardy.

Rodney Eade has moved to ease my concerns about Barry Hall’s scoring potential by announcing that he will roam forward of 50 for marks. He was prompted to divulge this tactical information when asked if Brad Johnson would still be relevant this year. On that subject, he is also advised he is certain Johno will be ready for round one and should have a good impact this year. I suspect he’ll play till 37, but that doesn’t mean he should be picked up.

The Crows still feel that Burton, Knights and Sellar are aiming for round one despite there respective injury concerns. I think Knights may be at max value already, but Burton is definitely way under. The only concern is his knee, but I think that surgery was a bit too much of a scare to keep considering him. Ballsy pick though.

Simpson has become the latest bloke at Visy park to come out and announce that Warnock should be the number one ruck this year. His scores really haven’t been impressive so far this pre-season, but the hype has been such that we can only assume the scores will come eventually.

With Sandilands due for a rest the Dockers have decided to see whether they can win without him this week. Of course they can’t, but the good news is lit let’s us see how Zac Clarke is progressing in his development. I suspect he has a long way to go, but his stats should still be scrutinized.
